Workflow for the Cost Breakdown Data Extraction API

This topic describes a workflow for implementing the endpoints of the Cost Breakdown Data Extraction API.

The Cost Breakdown Data Extraction API enables you to search for cost group documents associated with line items for which awards or PIRs are created and to view cost terms for a cost group document.

The following workflow describes the sequence in which you can implement the endpoints.

  1. The client application searches for cost-group documents associated with line items for which awards or PIRs are created by specifying a date range.

  2. From the search results, you identify the document that contains the cost breakdown data that you want to retrieve.

  3. The client application retrieves the cost components and the associated cost group terms for the document ID you specified.
