Counting Change Logs

Prerequisites

Logging must be activated in the system profile parameter rec/client.

Context

IMG Logging can count the number of table change logs. The system gives you an overvlew of how many change logs exist for which tables. Especially when you want to analyze your changes by database tables, not by IMG customizing activities, it shows you where changes have been made.

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation pathTools Next navigation step Customizing Next navigation step IMG Next navigation step IMG LoggingEnd of the navigation path in the SAP menu.

  2. Specify the search mode:

    • To find out how many logs there are, choose Start of the navigation pathAdministration Next navigation step Number of Logs (Total)End of the navigation path.

To restrict the search, choose Start of the navigation pathAdministration Next navigation step Number of Logs (Selective)End of the navigation path. You can restrict the log search to a period of time or particular tables.

  3. If you have selected Number of Logs (Selective), enter your selection conditions in the following dialog box.

This restricts the set of tables analyzed and the period in which the logs are counted. The " Hide Tables w/o Logs" flag (default) lists only tables für which logs were actually created in the specified period. If it is not set, all tables for which logging is active are displayed.

Results

  • If you choose Number of Logs (total), you are told how many logs exist.

  • If you have chosen Number of Logs (Selective), the selected tables are output with the number of change logs created in the specified period. Archived logs are not counted.
