Identification as Bank

Definition

Bank master data enhanced by Financial Services that identifies business partners belonging to the Organization category as banks.

Use

The bank master data enables SAP to internally represent different national and international bank directories, such as the bank directory for Germany. The bank master data is required to store consistent bank details and reduce manual access and costs in payment processes (for example, by storing other data to identify banks such as SWIFT codes, use of bank groups).

You can also enter the information that a business partner belonging to the Organization category is identified as a bank in the system on the Identification tab page under Identification as Bank. Under Bank Data you can select the detail screen for processing bank master data.
