Importing STEP Data in Individual Steps

Use

Once you have started the import, you can also carry out the import of the STEP file in several individual steps. In the case of errors, this procedure offers you greater control.

Prerequisite

You have started the import of STEP data and carried out steps 1 to 2 and are now on the screen STEP interface: Import .

Procedure

  1. If you want to open a STEP file, select Start of the navigation path STEP model Next navigation step Open STEP file. End of the navigation path

You go to the file manager screen. From your local network double click on the STEP file.

  1. If you want to display the header data, choose Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Header data End of the navigation path

  1. If you want to start a mapping process, select Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step STEP Next navigation step SAP. End of the navigation path

The mapping process is started. The STEP processor maps the STEP data to the SAP data model.

Choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step SAP Next navigation step STEP. End of the navigation path

  1. If you want to display the log , select Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Application log. End of the navigation path

  1. If you want to display the SAP view, choose Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step SAP view End of the navigation path

  1. To import the data into the SAP database, select on either the STEP view or on the SAP view.
