Defining the Search Path for SAP Library and SAP Glossary
Use
The Help Center search function can search SAP Library and the glossary. This requires SAP Library to be installed on a file server; access is not possible using a Web server.
In order for the Help Center search function to access SAP Library, the SAP system (SAP Web AS ABAP) needs information about the storage path. You define a logical path in the SAP system that references the physical path to the network folder in which SAP Library is installed. To establish the connection between the installed SAP Library and the Help Center, enter the logical path in the Help Center Implementation Guide.
Procedure
1. Create Logical Path to Network Folder (SAP Library and Glossary)
-
In the SAP system, call transaction FILE.
-
Choose New Entries and enter a technical name and meaningful short text for the logical file path.
-
Select the new entry and, in the Logical file path definition dialog structure, double-click the subfolder Assignment of logical to physical file paths.
-
Choose New Entries and assign the following information to the logical file path:
-
Corresponding syntax group for the operating system of the SAP system (and hence the corresponding syntax for the path specification)
-
Physical path to the network folder that contains the language versions ( PLAINHTM and helpdata), followed by the placeholder <FILENAME>
The system replaces the placeholder with the physical file name at runtime.
-
-
Save the logical path, specifying a transport request.
2. Enter Logical Path in Help Center Implementation Guide
Enter the logical path to SAP Library in the Help Center settings.
