Creating Steps
Use
You create a step in a workflow definition, for example, to execute a task or to control the workflow. A step is always created in a block. This block contains at least this step and its defined outcomes.
Procedure
You can create a new step in the workflow definition by either changing an undefined step, or creating a new step between two existing nodes.
Changing undefined steps

Open the dialog box Step Selection by double-clicking on the undefined step.

Choose a step type.
Creating new steps

In the workflow area, select a step or an outcome. Consider the positioning rules for new steps.

Choose Create in the context menu. The dialog box Step Selection opens.

Inserting tasks from the object area
You can insert a task or workflow displayed in the tray My workflows and tasks into the workflow definition as an activity.

In the workflow area, select a step or an outcome. Consider the positioning rules for new steps.

In the object area, select the task or workflow that you want to insert.

In the context menu, choose Include as activity.
Result
If you have created a new step, a step of the chosen step type is inserted at the chosen position/replaces the undefined step. You go directly to the step definition.

If you have inserted a task or workflow from the object area, an activity that refers to the chosen task or workflow is inserted into the workflow definition.
