Extending the Communication Structure

Prerequisites

You know which elements in the task container hold the data that is needed for the analysis, and you know the data elements that are referred to by these container elements.

Procedure


  1. Go to the area menu of the WIS and choose Start of the navigation pathEnvironment Next navigation step Enhancements Next navigation step Append StructureEnd of the navigation path.

    The structure name MCWF_TRANS is set as a default.

  2. Extend the structure with an append structure. This technique allows you to make customer enhancements to SAP data structures, without modifying the SAP structure.

  3. Choose Start of the navigation pathGoTo Next navigation step Append StructuresEnd of the navigation path.

  4. Give the append structure a name of your choice.

  5. Create new fields in the append structure. Specify those data elements as a reference that you determined earlier for the container elements.

  6. Generate the append structure.
