Form Steps
Use
This step type enables you to display or process the data in a container element of the workflow container. The container element must refer to a structure whose fields are used in the form. Deep structures are not supported.
A required form can be created automatically by the workflow system by continuing to edit this created form and by adjusting them to your individual requirements.
Forms can also contain other elements, with which, for example, the form content can be approved during execution of the step.
In the workflow definition a form step is represented with the symbol
.
Prerequisites
If you want to create a form step, the workflow container must contain a container element that references a structure. This structure must contain all the fields that you want to use in your form.
Process
The maintenance of a form step is spread across several tab pages. You can process its properties on them, such as:
-
Data for deadline monitoring
-
Outcomes
-
Responsible agents
The order of the tab pages defines the recommended sequence of processing. You should start the definition of a new form step on the Form tab page.
Result
The system inserts a step of the type form into the workflow definition. To ensure the consistency of the workflow definition, all active outcomes are inserted with the actual step. For each outcome, the system adds a branch in the workflow definition and puts an undefined step into this branch. To ensure the consistency of the block structure, all branches created are brought together before the next step of the workflow definition.
At runtime, a form step is represented by a dialog work item.
The tab page Change Data displays when the step was last changed, and by whom.
