Executing Together

Use

Different work items can be selected and executed together. This function is only available for Dialog Work Items.

Prerequisites

Executing work items together must be activated in the Personal Workflow Settings.

The method that is linked to the work items to be executed together must be specifically implemented. For more information, see Creating a Method to Execute Work Items Together (BOR).

Features

If the flag Transfer execution to other work items possible is not set, all selected work items are executed in sequence.

If the flag is set, the workflow system checks the selected workflows. All work items for which "Executing together" is not supported are offered for execution in sequence.

The remaining work items are grouped as follows:

1. Grouping by task:

   All work items that refer to the same task can be executed together.

2. Grouping by user decision (work item refers to task TS0008267 or a copy of it)

   All work items for user decisions that refer to the generic decision task ( TS00008267) or a copy of it, are also grouped. Only work items that refer to the same step in the same workflow version can be executed together.

One work item from each group is offered to the user for processing. The workflow system then asks whether the result of the execution is to be transferred to the other work items in the group. If the user confirms this, the remaining work items in the group are executed automatically. If the user does not confirm, they have to execute the remaining work items in the group manually.
