Uploading Mobile Components to the DOE

Use

In the Data Orchestration Engine (DOE), you create setup packages or software packages for mobile devices. These packages include files that you require for running the SAP NetWeaver Mobile client, such as the database; client framework services; and others.

After installing the SAP NetWeaver AS, you must make these client-related files available in the DOE. All these files are available in the NWMCLIENT01_7600.sca file. Using the Archive Upload tool, you have to upload this file to the DOE.

Prerequisites

  • You have copied the Mobile client archive file into your local system

    The NWMCLIENT01_7600.sca file is available on the installation DVD in the …\MobileClient path.

  • You have copied the MaxDB database zip file to your local system.

    The MaxDB database is needed for the client. The file is available in the Service Market Place.

  • If you want IBM DB2e 9.1 as the database, you must download the IBM DB2e SDA from SAP Service Market Place at http://www.service.sap.com/swdcInformation published on SAP site Start of the navigation pathDownload Next navigation step Database Patches (from other vendors)End of the navigation path.

  • You have copied the JVM file to your local system.

    You can install the JRE 1.5 x or the higher versions from http://www.java.comInformation published on non-SAP site Start of the navigation pathDownloads Next navigation step Java SEEnd of the navigation path.

  • You have set an appropriate value of the Max Work process Runtime (rdisp/max_wprun_time) profile parameter.

    This value provides sufficient time for the dialog processes to upload the files. For example, if you are uploading a file of large size (like MaxDB), you must provide sufficient time for the SAP NetWeaver AS to complete uploading the file. Otherwise, the upload terminates. The parameter value depends on the system hardware configurations. If the upload of the mobile components terminates, increase the value. Use transaction RZ11 to set the parameter value.

Procedure

Uploading the Mobile Client Archive

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver AS system, and start transaction SDOE_UPLOAD_ARCHIVE.

  2. Navigate to the NWMCLIENT01_7600.sca file that you copied to your file system.

  3. Choose Upload .

Uploading the Database to the DOE

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.1 system, and start transaction SDOE_UPLOAD_ARCHIVE.

  2. Choose Switch Screen to Upload Non SDAs .

  3. With Application Type as DB, enter the details of the database file as explained below:

    Name

    Enter a meaningful name. This is the name of the mobile component that appears in the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator. For example, you can enter MAXDB_WIN32.

    Version

    Enter the version. The version indicates the version of the mobile component.

    Language

    Enter the two letter language code. For example, to specify English, enter EN. The description of the mobile component in the DOE is stored in the language you specify.

    Description

    Enter a meaningful description. For example, MAXDB for Windows.

    Operating System

    Enter the operating system, WIN32 for laptops and WINCE for handhelds. This field is mandatory.

    Processor

    Enter the name of the processor, for example Intel. This field is optional.

  4. In the Choose File: field, navigate to the MaxDB zip file that you copied to your file system.

  5. Choose Upload.

Uploading the JVM to the DOE

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.1 system, and start transaction SDOE_UPLOAD_ARCHIVE.

  2. Choose Switch Screen to Upload Non SDAs .

  3. With Application Type as JVM, enter the details of the JVM as explained in the table above.

  4. In the Choose File: field, navigate to the JVM file that you copied to your file system.

  5. Choose Upload .
