Configuring Generic Data Orchestration Engine Settings

Use

As part of setting up the Data Orchestration Engine (DOE), you need to configure generic settings, such as the size of the attachments, package size of a data object message, the availability of third-party device management, and so on.

Prerequisites

You have logged on to the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator.

More information: Logging On to SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator

Procedure

  1. Choose Configuration .

  2. In the left area of the screen, choose DOE Configuration .

  3. In the Parameter Key and Name screen area, select the required parameter.

The parameters are explained in the following table:

    Parameter name

    Description

    Parameter value

    QUEUESIZE

Indicates the number of queues that you want to use to ensure load balancing when you extract data for devices

In the Numeric Value field, enter the required number.

By default, the value is set to 5.

    DO_SYNC_EXTRACT

Indicates that the flow controller must trigger the distribution of a data object immediately after storing data in the persistency layer of the Consolidated Data Store (CDS).

If this parameter is set, then the synchronous extract happens only for the new instances. The instances that are already in the pending extract state are not extracted automatically.

The CLIENT_PACKAGE_SIZE parameter is not valid if the DO_SYNC_EXTRACT parameter is enabled.

In the Text Value field, enter X for the required data objects.

    BLOCK_SIZE_FOR_ATTACHMENTS

Indicates the maximum size of an attachment that can be stored in one row of the table. If the size of the attachment exceeds the specified limit, it is split and stored in different rows of the table. For example, you have set the default value (30 MB) for this parameter. If the size of an attachment is 60 MB, then it is split and stored in two different rows of the table.

In the Numeric Value field, enter the required size.

By default, the value is set to 30 MB.

    SESS_TIMEOUT

Specifies the duration of a client session after which the session is timed out irrespective of whether or not synchronization was complete.

In the Numeric Value field, enter the required time duration.

    THIRD_PARTY_DM_INSTALLED

Indicates that a third-party device management tool is installed. If this parameter is enabled, then the third-party tool is used for device management.

In the Text Value field, enter X .

    DOE_PACKAGE_SIZE

Indicates the maximum number of data object instances in a data object message

In the Numeric Value field, enter a number.

    ENABLE_REASSIGNMENT

Indicates that device reassignment is enabled in the DOE. On enabling this parameter, the device reassignment links appear in the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator.

In the Text Value field ,enter X .

    ENABLE_REASSIGNMENT_DO

Indicates that device reassignment is enabled for specific data objects in the DOE.

In the Text Value field, enter X .

    CLIENT_PACKAGE_SIZE

Indicates the number of instances the client can process in a bulk transaction

In the Numeric Value field, enter the required number.

    ENABLE_USER_SYNC_FOR_DOE

Indicates whether data is stored in the user-specific queue for distribution packages in the DOE.

In the Parameter List section, enter the X

    ENABLE_USER_SYNC_FOR_OBJ

Indicates whether data is stored in the user-specific queue for the particular distribution package.

In the Parameter List section, enter the corresponding SWCV name, the distribution package name. In the Value field, enter X .

    ENABLE_COMPLETENESS_CHK

Allows user synchronization to participate in completeness check and

Identifies data objects to participate in completeness check.

In the Parameter List section, enter the corresponding SWCV name, the distribution package name. In the Value field, enter X .

  4. In the Parameter List screen area, choose Change , and then enter the required value.

  5. Choose Save .
