Test Environment for Handheld-based Applications

Prerequisites

You have access to the installation files for the mobile client.

Context

If you are developing applications for handhelds, you can set up a test client on the development workstation. From the development workstation, you can deploy the application to the mobile client for handhelds.

Procedure


  1. Create a folder named MobileClientPDA on your system and extract the following zip files into the folder:

    1. pda_runtime_win32_for_test_only.zip

    2. Depending on the database, MaxDB or IBM DB2e, extract either of the following files to the folder

      • db2e.zip

      • mindb.zip

    3. Depending on the runtime environment, JSP or AWT, extract either of the following files to the folder:

      • extratctpda_runtime_jsp_container.zip

      • pda_runtime_awt_container.zip
