Creating Basic Lists with the Query Painter
Use
Before it is able to create a new query, the system needs information that enables it to generate the corresponding report. The following entries are required:

InfoSet
-
Title and list format
-
Field selection (fields used in the list)
-
List layout
Prerequisites
You are in the initial screen of the Queries component.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to use the Query Painter to create a basic list:

Use the Switch User Group
function to select the user group, to which you want the new query to belong. -
Specify a name for the query.

Choose the Create
function.A list of InfoSets belonging to the user group is displayed.

Select the InfoSet appropriate for your query and click on Accept
.You are taken to the Create Query: Title, Format screen.

Type the appropriate information into the dialog fields.

Choose to specify that you want to use the Query Painter to define the basic list.

In the Settings dialog box, activate the Graphical Query Painter check box and click on Continue
.The Settings dialog box closes.

Click on the Basic List pushbutton to open the Query Painter. You can select the fields you want from the Query Painter directly.
Alternatively, choose Next Screen
, and choose the fields that you want to use to build your query before you start the Query Painter. This procedure is useful if you want to define local fields.
