Archiving Batch Where-Used Records (LO-BM-WUL)

Definition

You use the archiving object LO_CHVW to archive batch where-used records. The table CHVW logs goods movements involving materials that are subject to a batch management requirement.

Note Note

The archiving object LO_CHVW has been revised within the framework of a project to standardize and optimize data archiving. You can use the standardized archiving object by activating the business function Data Archiving: Standardization of Archiving Objects ( DA_ARCHOBJ_STANDARD_1 ). For more information, see the business function documentation in the Switch Framework (transaction SFW5).

The archiving object LO_CHVW supersedes the archiving object MM_CHVW. The object MM_CHVW is no longer available.

End of the note.

Use

The concept for archiving batch where-used records is designed to secure the availability of the archived data for the batch where-used list in accordance with legal requirements. Two function modules are supplied to realize this availability: CHVW_ARCHIVE_INDEX_READ and CHVW_ARCHIVE_FILE_READ.

Note Note

This functionality is not yet available in the batch where-used list.

End of the note.

End of the navigation path This does not apply to test runs, which can be performed in dialog mode.

End of the note.
Selection Criteria

The size and content of the archive can be influenced by the selection criteria (material number/plant). This makes it possible to systematize archives according to your own criteria on the one hand, while reducing the data volume of an archiving run on the other.

Note Note

You can select batches by plant only if batches have been defined at plant level in your system.

End of the note.

In addition, you influence the selection of the batches to be archived via the entry “Last Posting Before".

Indexes

The index facilitates access to the archived batch where-used records. For this purpose, the system compiles three indexes with the following search criteria:

  • Plant/material/batch

  • Order number

  • Purchasing document number
