Archiving Valuated Special Stocks (LO-MD-MM)

Definition

Archiving object MM_STO_VAL for archiving records of valuated special stocks in the Logistics – Material Master (LO-MD-MM) application component.

Use

You can use this archiving object to archive records of valuated special stocks that you no longer need to access in the system. The data is written in archive files and deleted from the system, if this operation is successful. You can display the archived data. A data restore is not supported.

Regarding valuated special stock records, the archiving object MM_STO_VAL is a successor of the archiving object MM_SPSTOCK.

Structure

Tables

The archiving object MM_STO_VAL archives and deletes data from several tables. You can determine which tables these are in the transactions SARA or DB15 (see Tables and Archiving Objects).

Archiving (Writing)

The write program writes the database tables of the valuated special stocks to the archive. If the operation is successful, the program deletes the data from the system after archiving, depending on the Customizing settings.

MM_STO_VAL_WRI

Deleting

The delete program deletes all database records for the valuated special stocks that were successfully archived.

If the deletion program is not called up automatically after the Archive activity has been successfully completed, you must wait until all the archiving is completed. Then you can schedule this step.

Integration

ILM-Related Information for the Archiving Object

You can use this archiving object with the ILM object MM_STO_VAL within SAP Information Lifecycle Management. A prerequisite for this is that you have activated the corresponding Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) business function (transaction SFW5). The system then additionally shows the ILM Actions frame. With these actions, you can carry out an archiving in which the retention periods defined in the Information Retention Manager are evaluated, for example. Furthermore, you can make snapshots (copies) of data or destroy data that satisfies the prerequisites.

The following fields are defined for MM_STO_VAL in the ILM policy and are visible when processing ILM policies (transaction IRMPOL):
