SAP Cache Server

Use

The SAP Cache Server is an additional server-based component for storing copies of documents that are accessed for the first time. As a result, subsequent access to these documents is quicker, since the contents are taken directly from the cache.

Purpose

The purpose of the SAP Cache Server is to provide the following benefits:

  • Seamless, transparent integration into existing content server landscapes

  • Significant reduction in client response times

  • As little administration work as possible

The SAP Cache Server is similar to the SAP Content Server, but requires less administration with the same level of access protection.

Implementation Considerations

The SAP Cache Server is installed as part of the SAP Content Server installation using the SAP NetWeaver Presentation DVD.
