Using CM Services
Use
As of enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0, SAP delivers CM Services (Change Management Services) as part of the SAP NetWeaver AS for Java. You can use CM Services for transporting SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI) developments.
You can use CM Services for a tight integration of NWDI and CTS and if you would like to perform transports on a more granular level (software components (SCAs)/development components (SDAs)) by using deployable transport.
In order to use CM Services you need to have an application server ABAP and an application server Java installed.
For more information on the transport scenarios available for NWDI developments, see SAP Note 1775838
.
For more information about CM Services, see SAP composite Note 1361909
.
The following services belong to the CM Services:
-
Configuration Service
You can create and edit development configurations with the Configuration Service.
-
Export Service
With the Export Service you can export software components (SCAs) and development components (SDAs) from a system and then import them into another system.
-
Import Service
Using the Import Service you can import exported software components (SCAs) into another system.
-
History Service
With the History Service you can quickly get information about running or executed exports.
-
Synchronize Service
With the Synchronize Service you can quickly determine and resolve version differences of software components on the runtime system and the development system.
You can decide which server you want to use the CM Services on (for example, the AS Java of the transport system, or the server where NWDI is running).
