Triggering a local build

In the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, open the Development Infrastructure perspective.
Navigate to the development component (DC) to be built.
Open the content menu and choose Build...
In the dialog that appears, you can choose to perform a force build , that is you build the DC no matter if it was changed or not.
Choose OK .

To review the build result details, open the Infrastructure Console view, and from the context menu of the displayed build information short messages, choose Show Details .

Triggering a central build

Start the CBS Web UI.

To do that, open the following address:

http://<host name>:<port number>/devinf

Open the Component Build Service link.
Choose the Development Component link.
Select the Build the DC tabstrip.

This tabstrip allows users to trigger a rebuild of the development component. The tabstrip is only shown if the DC resides in a compartment that supports activation and if the user has developer permissions.
Select the build variants that should be built.
Press the Initiate the build button to trigger the build.

Note

Note that the build is not executed immediately. Instead, the CBS creates a request and puts it into its request queue. The request is executed later by the CBS. The Web UI displays the request ID of the request that was created. By clicking on the request ID you can navigate to the Requests view and view more details.
