Display and Change Mode for Tracks and Domain

Use

To edit an existing domain or track, you must switch to change mode in the appropriate screen. This sets a lock on the object you want to edit, preventing other users from accessing it.

Setting a Lock

When you want to edit a track or domain, choose Change .

Change Management Service (CMS) runs an authorization check and activates the functions that you are permitted to use.

At the same time, CMS sets a lock on the track that you are editing. Any other users who attempt to edit the same track see a message telling them that it is locked by you.

This lock remains in place while you are editing the track. The following actions remove the lock:

  • You save your data.

  • You switch to Transport Studio in another track to view the domain or the track connections.

  • You exit your Web browser session.

  • You switch to display mode.

Removing a Lock

Occasionally a lock cannot be removed by one of the actions described above. The track is then locked for all users.

These locks can only be removed by using SAP NetWeaver Administrator (NWA) in Web AS Java.

To remove a lock, proceed as follows:

  1. Start NWA.

  2. Log on as a user with administration authorization.

  3. Choose Start of the navigation pathProblem Management Next navigation step Locks.End of the navigation path The Locks: Java Locks screen appears.

  4. Select the lock that is allocated to the locked track or locked domain and choose Remove Lock . This releases the track or domain to be edited again.
