Maintaining Account GroupsYou can define any number of hierarchical structures of accounts for use in the information system, allocations and planning. These structures are called "account groups". You can create new account groups as well as display or change existing ones. If you want to use the same account groups in Profit Center Accounting that you have already created in Cost Center Accounting, you can copy them to Profit Center Accounting. The same goes for balance sheet account groups that you already created in Financial Accounting.
Note
Each account group is assigned to a chart of accounts. You can only use an account group in multiple controlling areas if those controlling areas use the same chart of accounts.
To maintain account groups, choose the menu option Profit Center Groups . Note that the account groups you maintain here are valid only in Profit Center Accounting.
To copy revenue and cost element groups from Overhead Cost Controlling, you can do this using the function

The balance sheet item "1000000 Assets" becomes account "100000098 Assets" in the new account group.
