Creating Web Content in a Page

Use

When creating Web content within a page, you use Web content templates. The standard SAP delivery contains the following Web content templates:

  • Article

  • Banner

  • Link List

  • Paragraph

  • RSS Link List

  • Teaser

You can either create new content or you can reuse existing content that already exists in the Content Library.

Procedure

Creating Content

  1. In the portal, choose Start of the navigation pathAccessible Area Management Next navigation step Content EditorEnd of the navigation path.

  2. In the navigation panel, select the page in which you want to create the content, and, in the context menu, choose Start of the navigation pathOpen Next navigation step PageEnd of the navigation path.

  3. In the Page Content and Layout Settings section, choose Start of the navigation pathNew Next navigation step iView from TemplateEnd of the navigation path.

  4. In the Available Templates section, select WPC Web Content iView and choose Next .

  5. Enter a name for the iView.

  6. Optional: Enter an ID and a description for the iView.

  7. Choose Next .

  8. Continue with the appropriate procedure in the sections below to create new content or to use existing content.

Creating New Content

  1. Select Create a new KM resource and choose Next .

  2. Select the required type of content and click Finish .

  3. Reopen the page and in the Page Content and Layout Settings section, select the added content and choose Open .

  4. Choose Edit Content .

    The editor for the chosen type of content opens. Follow the instructions given in the procedures in the Creating Web Content Using Forms section.

Using Existing Content

  1. Select Use an existing KM resource and choose Next .

  2. Open a new tab in your browser and log on to the Portal.

  3. Open the Content Library and navigate to the object that you want to reuse.

  4. From the object's context menu, choose Details .

  5. In the new window that opens, Start of the navigation pathSettings Next navigation step PropertiesEnd of the navigation path and choose the Access Links tab.

  6. From the Target URL field, copy the end part of the URL (from /pcc till the end).

  7. Return to the previous browser tab and paste the copied path in the Path field.

  8. Choose Finish .

  9. Choose Close .
