Customizing Settings for the Plant Manager Role

Purpose

To use the Plant Manager role in the SAP Enterprise Portal, you or your system administrator must make various Customizing settings. This process provides an overview about which Customizing settings are required.

In the ERP system you define the individual KPIs that you can also configure as personalizable KPIs if necessary.

If you wish to work with the Alert Monitor, define the alert categories in Customizing and decide how you wish to be alerted.

Process Flow

You make the settings for the Plant Manager role in Customizing for Start of the navigation path Integration with Other SAP Components. To do so, choose business packages/functional packages Next navigation step Plant manager 2.0 (mySAP ERP) End of the navigation path .

  1. Define Systems

    You define one or more logical systems from which your KPIs values originate. Note that this setting will apply to all source system types.You also define a KPI managing system . Note that you define the RFC connections in both directions for the KPI managing system and the source systems. The KPI managing system is especially important if you are working with a distributed system landscape, and determine your KPIs in different systems. In this case, you must define the KPI managing system in the systems that generate the KPI values.

  2. Defining KPIs

    You must define KPIs to be able to display them in the KPI watch list in the Portal. For more information, see Define KPIs

  3. Define Alert Categories

    You can use the central Alert Management in SAP NetWeaver for the Plant Manager role. If you want to generate alerts for your KPIs, you must import the standard alert categories for into the system with the Alert Server. For more information, see Setting Up Alert Management for KPIs and Alert Management .

  4. Activate Services

    Ensure that the following services are activated in the ERP system:

    • KEY_FIGURE_MONITOR

    • KEY_FIGURE_TREND

    • POWL

    • POWL_MASTER_QUERY

    • POWL_PERS_COMP

    • rman_prsp_conf_app

    • rman_prsp_conf_cancel

    • rman_prsp_conf_display

    • rman_prsp_conf_eti

    • rman_prsp_detail_comp

  5. You do so on the SAP Easy Access screen under Start of the navigation path Tools Next navigation step Administration Next navigation step Administration Next navigation step Network Next navigation step HTTP Service Hierarchy Maintenance End of the navigation path .

  6. The Maintain Services screen appears.

  7. Choose /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap in the Service Path field and choose Execute .

  8. The Maintain Services screen appears.

  9. check whether the services above are active.

Result

You have defined KPIs and the services.
