SAP Financial Consolidation Web User Guide

What is the difference between locking and protecting a package's contents?

The central site defines whether or not a given package will be locked. If required by central site, the package is locked on publication and can only be unlocked if central site provides its authorization.

On the other hand, any Financial Consolidation user with the corresponding access rights can protect a package.

In both cases, no changes can be made to the package.
