Creation and Editing of the Interface Design You can use the
modeling environment for Variant Configuration
to create an
interface design
for the configuration profile.
When you create an interface design using the modeling environment, a general characteristic group is created as standard. This group contains all the characteristics that are not assigned to another group of the type
Tab
, for example, characteristics that are classified in groups of the type
Pushbutton
or
Sequence
. Until you create a group, the general group contains all characteristics.
A configuration profile for the material must exist before you can create an interface design for the profile.
You can use the context menu in the model tree and the detailed view to edit an interface design and to create and edit the characteristic groups below it.
In the context menu for the interface design, you can
Create a characteristic group
Delete the interface design
The existing characteristic groups are listed under the interface design.
The detailed view shows the existing characteristic groups in a table.
You can make a new entry in the table to create a characteristic group .
By double-clicking an entry in the table, you can go directly to the detailed view for the characteristic group in question.
To create an interface design with the modeling environment, proceed as follows:
Select the configuration profile in the model tree and use the context menu to create an interface design.
Enter a name for the new interface design.
If necessary, create characteristic groups using the context menu for the new interface design in the model tree or the detailed view for the design.
