Regenerating A Runtime Version

A runtime version collects the master data as it was created. You regenerate a runtime version if you want to

  • Activate changes you have made to the master data

  • Change the characteristics of the runtime version yourself, such as the validity date.

    Caution Caution

Regenerating the version overwrites the database records of this runtime version.

    End of the caution.

    Note Note

If you want to provide model versions for a validity date in the future, you must create new runtime versions with the appropriate validity data.

    End of the note.

Prerequisites

You have already created a runtime version of a knowledge-base object.

All changes made to knowledge-base objects are valid for the runtime version date.

Note Note

When a runtime version is changed, the validity date is displayed that was assigned to it when it was created – not today’s date.

End of the note.

Procedure

  1. In the Variant Configuration menu, choose Start of the navigation path Knowledge Base Next navigation step Runtime Version Next navigation step Change End of the navigation path .

  2. Specify the name of your runtime version. Make the necessary changes.

  3. Choose .

Result

The changed data is identified so that only the changes are replicated when a continuous system alignment (delta download) is carried out.

The build number of the runtime version is incremented.

Note Note

For system information with regard to errors, see the ERP application log: start transaction SLG1 ; enter log object PPVA and subobject KBMT .
