Starting and Stopping Java Instances

Context

Use this procedure to change the status of Java instances at runtime.

Procedure


  1. From SAP NetWeaver Administrator, choose Start of the navigation pathOperations Next navigation step Systems  Next navigation step  Start & StopEnd of the navigation path.

  2. Choose the Java Instances tab.

    All available instances are displayed in a table with corresponding information about the server processes within the instance.

  3. Select an instance.

    Its server processes are listed in the Details About Instance <n> pane. You can:

    • Start, stop or restart a Java instance.

    • Enable or disable debug mode for AS Java processes.

    • View and refresh OS processes.

    • Clear the DNS cache for a particular instance.

    • Set a number of server processes (nodes).
