Creating a Security Profile with X.509 Authentication

Create a security profile, and configure it to use an X.509 authentication provider.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Management Cockpit as the smpAdmin user, and select Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Security Profiles End of the navigation path.
  2. Click New, enter a name for the profile, and click Add.
  3. Under Security Profile Properties, view or enter values.
    Field Value
    Security Profile Name A unique name for the security profile.
    Check Impersonation (Optional) In token-based authentication, whether to allow authentication to succeed when the user name presented cannot be matched against any of the user names validated in the login modules. By default, the property is enabled, which prevents user authentication in this scenario.
  4. Under Authentication Providers
    1. Click Add.
    2. In the Add Authentication Provider dialog, select:
      • Authentication ProviderX.509 User Certificate.

      • Control Flag – optional.

      • Validated Certificate as Identity – enable.

      • Certificate Attribute As Principal – enter CN.

    3. (Optional) To validate your settings, click Test Settings.
    4. Click Save.
  5. Click Save.
