DSD Tour Scenario You have two options for implementing your DSD process outside of the back-end system during a tour: Either as a mobile or paper-based DSD process scenario. For more information about these two options, see Mobile and Paper-Based DSD Process Scenarios .
The DSD tour scenario starts in the distribution center with order processing and the related shipment preparations, followed by physical delivery of the goods to the customer, and ends with the system processing the tour data in the distribution center.
Note
The DSD process varies according to the different roles of the driver. A preseller does not usually make deliveries, for example, but acquires new orders.
DSD process overview (example illustrates a delivery driver using mobile devices)

The DSD process starts with an incoming order (generated by a preseller, for example).
As part of shipment preparation, you group the order with other deliveries to make up a shipment for a tour (including the required documents). You can complete this step with a first check, the loading confirmation.
You provide the driver with all the necessary tour data (download). The shipment is now ready, and the tour can be carried out.
Directly before the start of the tour, you can perform a check-out as a means of checking the loaded materials (for type and quantity).
The driver commences the tour (physical delivery), and delivers to the customers based on the information available (visit list).
If necessary, the driver returns to the warehouse during the tour to unload material (such as returns), or reload missing material. The tour is then resumed.
At the end of the tour, the driver returns to the warehouse. You can use the check-in (optional) to carry out another check to verify the current actual stocks on the vehicle.
The tour data is then transferred from the mobile device back to the ERP system (upload), where it is available for route settlement.
The final settlement run concludes the tour. In the final settlement run, all tour data is checked against the data in the system, the necessary documents are generated, and the final postings are made.
