Printing
You can use the print function to print the shop papers of a maintenance order or maintenance notification either physically to an actual output device or virtually to the job card. Printing to the job card transfers an order or notification to the job list.
This function is available in the following applications:
Order
Notification
Order and Notification List
Note
In the Maintenance Worker
role, it is only possible to print notifications.
You have configured the printing of shop papers in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service
under Maintenance and Service Processing
:
If you want to print shop papers physically, you have configured them as normal.
For more information, see Settings for Printing Shop Papers.
If you want to print shop papers virtually to the job card, you have configured them to print to the job card.
For more information, see Display Job Card in the Business Package for Maintenance Worker
.
Before you can print an order, it must be released.
To print an order or notification physically, you choose the required shop papers and enter the output device for printing. The system prints the shop papers physically in line with your settings.
To print an order or notification to the job card, you choose the required shop papers with Job Card
as the output device.
Note
If Job Card
is the output device, you cannot change this entry and it does not refer to an actual output device.
When you choose to print to the output device Job Card
, the shop papers are not physically output as a spool request via the SAP spool system. Instead the job is selected for job card output. The order's operations or notification's tasks also receive the status Transferred
to Job List
(TTJL). This status is a prerequisite for the order or notification appearing as a job in the job list. When the maintenance worker subsequently selects the corresponding job in the job list and chooses to display the job card, the system retrieves the data of all the shop
papers that were printed using the print function and generates a single PDF document. If you print an order and it has a safety plan, the job card also includes safety information. Note however that you must
have selected the safety plan as a content block when configuring shop papers in Customizing.
In addition to the order's or notification's shop papers, any PDF documents assigned in the order or notification are also printed when you print to the job card. This includes not only documents assigned directly on the Documents
tab page, but also documents
assigned in associated objects (for example, production resources/tools, notification, and reference object). These PDF documents are appended to the job card PDF document.
Note
These documents must be assigned as document info records with PDF documents as the original application file.
