Activating and Adapting Sample BCV Content
Sample Business Context Viewer (BCV) content for Plant Maintenance (PM) is available and can be integrated into the Business Package for Maintenance Worker 1.50.
You use the following procedures to implement this sample content for demonstration purposes. You can then use it is as the basis for creating your own content.
Enable the following BI queries in your data warehouse system:
Planned/Actual Cost Deviation
(0PM_C01_Q0001
)
Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Repair (MTBR) 2
(0PM_DS02_Q0002
)
Damage Analysis - Notifications 2
(0QM_C09_Q0007
)
To do this, proceed as follows:
Open the Modeling Data Warehousing Workbench
(transaction RSA1
).
Select BI Content
from the navigation panel on the left.
Choose the corresponding InfoProvider (for example, 0PM_C01
for query 0PM_C01_Q0001
) by navigating through the Info Areas, or choose Object Types
and select the queries directly.
Ensure that Grouping
is set to In Dataflow Before and Aftrwds
.
Install the content.
Adapt the queries for use within BCV as follows:
Start the BEx Query Designer and open the relevant query.
The query's properties are visible on the right of the screen.
On the Advanced
tab page, select the checkbox that allows external access to the query and save.
Ensure that Embedded Search (ES) has been activated for the object types Order
and Notification
.
For more information, see Embedded Search.
If necessary, enable a notification workflow for business object BUS2038.
For more information about available workflows, see PM/CS - Plant Maintenance & Customer Service: Workflow Scenarios.
In your test system, activate BC set EAMS_BCV_CONTENT
.
On the SAP Easy Access
screen, choose (transaction SCPR20
).
Note
If activation fails, try a second time. This can resolve problems caused by dependencies inside the BC set that result in warning or error messages in the BC set protocol.
During extraction of the BC set, the system asks for the following information:
Logical system of the data warehouse system
ID of the search object connector for notification and order
You can find this information in the Connector Administration Cockpit
. In Customizing for SAP NetWeaver
, choose .
The BC set contains predefined BCV queries that demonstrate how analytical information can be integrated. They are based on a range of information sources including BI queries, BAPIs, Enterprise Search, and workflow. Using these queries, you can also explore the features of BCV such as drilldown, overviews, dashboards, query view lists, and query views.
The following table describes the information provided by the predefined BCV queries:
BCV Query ID | BCV Query Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
|
| This query delivers all damage codes from the BI system. This query always returns results. |
|
| This query delivers all the damage codes that are related to the notifications created for a specific technical object. This query only returns results if the technical object and related notifications are part of the current load in the BI system. |
|
| This query delivers all MTBR/MTTR values for all technical objects in the BI system. This query always returns results. |
|
| This query delivers MTBR/MTTR values for a specific technical object. This query only returns results if the technical object and related notifications are part of the current load in the BI system. |
|
| This BAPI-based report delivers all notifications created for a hierarchy of technical objects with a downtime greater than 1 hour. To have this query return results, create notifications for your technical object, select the breakdown duration checkbox, and enter a breakdown time greater than 1 hour. |
|
| This query delivers all notifications related to a specific technical object by performing an Enterprise Search query. Note that if Enterprise Search does not work, then neither will this query. This query is the only one that displays results as a graphic. |
|
| This query lists all workflows related to your notification. |
|
| This query lists all planned and actual costs in the BI system grouped by planner group. This query always returns results. |
|
| This query lists all planned and actual costs for a specific technical object grouped by planner group. This query returns a result only if there is cost data from orders for your technical object in the BW system. |
|
| This query delivers all orders related to a specific technical object by performing an Enterprise Search query. Note that if Enterprise Search does not work, then neither will this query. |
For more information, see SAP Business Content for Plant Maintenance (PM).
Test the sample BCV content by opening the side panel of the Web Dynpro applications for the following objects:
Notification
Order
Technical object
Job
You can also open the side panel for the above objects when you display them in the Asset Viewer.
Note
The predefined queries either have no input parameters (thus guaranteeing results) or are based on technical objects. In the latter case, this means that if you open the side panel for an object type that is not a technical object, the technical object is derived from the original object. In the case of Workflows for Notification
(1EAMS_NTF_WF_01
), the notification is the query input.
The queries for the above object types are grouped into a hierarchical query view list. To see this list in the side panel of the relevant object, you must select the Query Views
tab and then from the option menu, choose the corresponding entry.
The three queries Notifications Damage Analysis by Organization
, Planned/Actual Costs: Deviation by Technical Object
, and MTBR/MTTR for Technical Object
are offered as overviews in the side panel and the dashboard.
Modify the sample content either directly in Customizing for Maintenance Worker
under Business Context Viewer
or in the portal in the Configuration Center. Note that the configuration of the overview layout and the dashboard is only possible in the Configuration Center.
If you want to integrate BCV content into an additional application, you must first enable the side panel for the application in question. To do this, proceed as follows:
In the relevant Web Dynpro application configuration, enter /BCV/SIDEPANEL as the wdSidePanelConfigurationId
application parameter.
If you need additional tagging to map values from the application to BCV queries, create an implementation for enhancement spot Side Panel BAdI Definition
(/PLMU/EX_FRW_SIDEPANEL
).
For more information about how to create your own content, see Business Content Viewer (BCV).
After you have successfully implemented your BCV content in your test system, transport your BCV Customizing settings to your productive system.
