Basic Maintenance Processing: Equipment Processing

Use

If equipment has not yet been created in the system, you can create equipment in Basic Maintenance Processing. The system goes to the standard transaction and copies the data to the Web user interface when you save the equipment.

Creating a Piece of Equipment

When you create a piece of equipment, you proceed in the same way as in the standard transaction of plant maintenance.

The equipment category and maintenance plant that are used in Basic Maintenance Processing are defined in the BAdI ILM_BE_ENHANCEMENTS.

Changing a Piece of Equipment

You can change or delete a piece of equipment as follows:

  • Deleting a piece of equipment

    If a piece of equipment is deleted, it is no longer available in Basic Maintenance Processing. By using the archiving function, you can also delete the piece of equipment physically.

  • Changing a piece of equipment

    You can change the equipment data. When you fill the required fields, you proceed in the same way as in the standard transaction of plant maintenance.

    Caution Caution

    You can create a piece of equipment in Basic Maintenance Processing, which can usually also be changed with the standard transactions of plant maintenance. However, we recommend that you do not change equipment in plant maintenance, because this may mean that a piece of equipment is no longer available for the processes in Basic Maintenance Processing. For example, if you change the plant for a piece of equipment in plant maintenance, the piece of equipment is no longer available in Basic Maintenance Processing, because you work with only one plant there.

Displaying a Piece of Equipment

When you display a piece of equipment, you proceed in the same way as in the standard transaction of plant maintenance.
