Adding and setting up a rate component

Once you have created and set up a price plan, you can add one or more rate components to the price plan tree.

The rate branch is a mandatory base for your price plan. You cannot create a price plan without a rate branch that contains at least one of the following rate components; Usage Rate, Recurring Rate, or One-Shot Rate.

To add and set up a rate component

  1. In the price plan tree, click (the root of the price plan).

  2. On the Components toolbar, move the pointer over Rates, and then click one of the following rate components: Usage Rate, Recurring Rate, or One-Shot Rate.

  3. In the Name field of the right pane, type the name of the rate component.

  4. In the Description field, describe the function of the rate component. This field is not mandatory.

  5. Set up the rate component.

Note: When a price plan contains several rate branches such as usage rates, recurring rates, and One-Shot rates, the rate branches are automatically arranged in this order in the price plan tree:

  1. Usage Rates.

  2. One-Shot Rates.

  3. Recurring Rates.

For example, if you add a new usage rate, it is automatically added after the last usage rate branch in the price plan tree.
