Adding and setting up a component

Once you have created and set up a rate component, you can add one or more components to the price plan tree. These components are the leaves of the price plan tree.

Each branch of the rating tree is built by using several combinations of the following components: Functions, Comparisons, Splitters, or Operators. Each branch of the rating tree must end with a function component.

To add and set up a component

  1. In the price plan tree, click the rate component to which you want to add a component. The rate component is one of the following: Usage Rate, Recurring Rate, or One-Shot Rate.

  2. On the Components toolbar, click the component that you need to add to the tree. You can select a component that belongs to one of these families: Functions, Comparisons, Splitters, or Operators.

  3. In the Name field of the right pane, type the name of the component.

  4. In the Description field, describe the function of the component. This field is not mandatory.

  5. Set up the component.

Note: You can change the order of the components if necessary. Place the cursor on the component to move, right-click to open the shortcut menu, and then select Move Up Component or Move Down Component.
