SAP Convergent Charging allows you to represent your service offer by creating a chargeable item package. This is the first step to build your offer and simulation in SAP CC Core Server.
Before creating a chargeable item package, you need to know:
To create a new chargeable item package, you must follow several steps. The first step is to know the service that will generate a fee, and how you want to charge each usage event. This helps you to determine the number and the type of chargeable item classes that you need in your chargeable item package to create your price plan.
The general process for creating a chargeable item package is the following:
Create and identify the chargeable item package: You must give your chargeable item package an identifying code.
Create chargeable item classes: Each chargeable item class represents an action that will be rated. For example, placing a telephone call, downloading content from a Web site, or logging onto an application online.
Define the properties of each chargeable item class: Each chargeable item class has a number of properties that will be taken into account during the rating process. For example, duration of a telephone call or the size of a file downloaded from the Web.
Verify the chargeable item package: Once the chargeable item package is complete, SAP CC Core Server allows you to verify that the chargeable item package is correctly built, and there is no component missing.
Save your chargeable item package if necessary. To complete a simulation, you need to create other components; however, if you need to interrupt your work after creating the chargeable item package, you can save the simulation in an XML file which can be opened later.
An example is provided that shows you how to create a chargeable item package.
