About provider contracts

A provider contract is a long-term agreement between a service provider and an end customer. This agreement is based on specific terms that have been negotiated beforehand and which defines how and how much the customer is charged to:

A provider contract can also include terms to refill the prepaid account of a customer.

In SAP Convergent Charging, a provider contract represents a contract subscribed between a customer (subscriber account) and a service provider.

When a provider contract is created, all the charges of the charge plans and the refill logic of the refill plan are automatically activated.

Before starting

Caution: Do not modify or delete provider contracts with the Core Tool when SAP Convergent Charging is integrated with a CRM or an external provisioning system. Modifying or deleting provider contracts may result in inconsistencies between the two systems. To modify a provider contract, you must use the CRM or the external provisioning system or implement the Web Services provided by SAP Convergent Charging to manage this customer master data.
