Inserting an existing price plan into a charge

Note: Inserting a price plan into a charge also inserts the related charging plan.

If you have previously saved a charge as an XML file to your hard disk, you can insert its price plan into a new or an existing charge; however, if you want to replace a price plan in an existing charge, make sure that this action is necessary because the price plan will completely be replaced by the new one. Keep in mind that a charge window must be open if you want to insert a price plan into the charge.

 

Important: You can insert a price plan into an existing charge only if the price plan was correctly verified before you saved the charge as an XML file; otherwise, the price plan does not appear in the Open Parameters window. To verify the price plan of a charge saved as an XML file, open the charge from the Open Parameters window by selecting the Open as New Object option, and then click the Verify icon on the main window toolbar. Once the Verify Charge window is open, correct all elements underlined in red, and then save the charge again as an XML file.

To insert an existing price plan (and the related charging plan) into a charge

  1. In the rating tree display area of the charge window, click the Price Plan icon .

  2. From the menu bar in the main window, select File > Open > From File. The Open window opens.

  3. Open the directory in which the charge is saved, and then select the charge file.

  4. Click Open. The Open Parameters dialog box opens.

  5. Select the Open as Sub-Element of Current Object option. The price plans in the list become available if they have correctly been verified before being saved as an XML file. Refer to the note above.

  6. Select the price plan you that want to insert.

  7. Click Open. The existing price plan is inserted into the charge.
