On this tab, you define the customer information included in the transaction to be taxed.
Fill in or modify the Customer Info tab.
Customer Type: This option is used to specify the type of the customer involved in the transaction. To select a type, do one of the following:
Select the value defined on the Tax tab of the subscriber account
Select one of the following types:
Business: If transactions are made at a place of business
Residential: If transactions are made by a customer for home use
Industrial: If transactions are made at an industrial business
Senior Citizen: If transactions made by a customer meet the jurisdiction requirements
Select the type defined in a property
Incorporated City Area: This option is used to specify whether the customer involved in the transaction is inside or outside of the incorporated area designated as their location. The tax may or may not be affected by this designator depending upon whether or not the unincorporated areas are taxed in the same manner as the incorporated areas. To select the option "inside" or "outside", do one of the following:
Select the value defined on the Tax tab of the subscriber account
Select one of the following options:
Inside: The customer involved in the transaction is inside of the incorporated area
Outside: The customer involved in the transaction is outside of the incorporated area
Select the option defined in a property
Exemption: The exemption level is the jurisdictional level of the taxing authority that defines the tax. It is used to exempt taxes at specific federal, state, county and/or local taxes. Select the exemption levels:
Fed Exempt: Is used to specify a Federal level tax exemption
State Exempt: Is used to specify a State level tax exemption
County Exempt: Is used to specify a County level tax exemption
Local Exempt: Is used to specify a Local level tax exemption
Service Class: This option is provided to delineate the primary activity of an organization as either long distance or local service. To select a service class, do one of the following:
Select one of the following service classes:
Long Distance: Primary long distance providers are carriers vending their services with over 50% of the gross business activities in long distance revenue
Local Primary: Primary local service providers are carriers vending their services with over 50% of the gross business activities in local service revenue
Select the service class defined in a property
Business Class: This option is used to specify if the business making the transaction is an Incumbent Local Exchange Company (ILEC) or a Competitive Local Exchange Company (CLEC). To select a business class, do one of the following:
Select one of the following service classes:
CLEC: A CLEC company is engaged in selling services competing with an incumbent provider
ILEC: An ILEC company is engaged in selling services over company-owned lines and equipment
Select the business class defined in a property
Lifeline: This option is used to indicate if a customer is a lifeline participant. Select the option defined in a property.
