Editing the Series Product Hierarchy

Purpose

You can use this function to set up product hierarchies for media products in Series Sales and Distribution ; that is, to assign further products to a media product. This is a simple way of mapping a combination in the system. If the customer subscribes to the media product on the highest level in the product hierarchy, they also receive copies of the products below it.

Example Example

The following graphic illustrates the product hierarchy US Law , which comprises Ohio Law and Idaho Law . This means a subscription to US Law (Subscription 1) comprises deliveries of both Ohio Law and Idaho Law. These two products can also be subscribed to individually.

Integration

The media products included in a contract item according to the product hierarchy are displayed in the contract on the Media tab under Product Structure.

You can use the input fields for selection to choose the media product whose series product hierarchy you want to process, for example by media product family or title.

Edit series product hierarchy

The following functions are available in the context menu for the product hierarchy:

  • Assign media products or entire hierarchies to the hierarchy at a lower level

    You can nest product hierarchies in as many layers as you wish.

  • Delete media products from the hierarchy

  • Access the issue sequence for the media product (if it exists)

Map several hierarchies

You can map hierarchies for different media products on the interface. Choose New Hierarchy to add a new hierarchy and enter the media product.
