Assignment of Business Partners to Media Product Master

Use

You can use this function to assign business partners to an object in the media product master if they are related to that object in a certain role, for example as publisher or author.

If the business partner has not yet been created in the system in the role in question, you can create them from the maintenance function for business partner assignments. You can restrict the business partner assignment to a period.

This function is only available if you use the SAP Business Partner.

Integration

Business Partner Roles of the SAP Business Partner

You can create the business partner roles for the media product family in the business partner task level menu for the SAP BP. Please take note of the following steps when calling up this task level menu:

  1. Call up transaction BUPT.

  2. Call up the role maintenance table by means of the menu path Start of the navigation path BP Control Next navigation step BP Roles End of the navigation path

  3. Create a new BP role under a new role key with a corresponding description and title using the New entries function. When you do this, assign the master role ISM100 (Content Partner) to the new BP role in the field Higher-level BP role. Maintain the other attributes according to your requirements.

The BP role ISM110 ( Autho r), which is provided with the standard delivery, gives an example of the attributes you can specify when creating a new business partner role with reference to the role Content Partner.

  • The role category/categories allowed for the assignment of a business partner to a media product family, a media product or a media issue should be defined in Customizing for the media product master. Features

  • Role-specific creation, changing and display of business partners (SAP BP) for the object in the media product master

  • Editing of the assignment table using the following functions:

  • Deletion of entries

  • Specification and changing of assignment periods

  • Sorting of assignment table

  • Display of change documents for assignment table

If you have a third-party delivery order for another publisher, you must assign the publisher as a business partner at media product level.

The External publisher indicator must also be selected in the business partner role Publisher (ISM030).

Activities

Creating a Business Partner Assignment (BP Exists in System)

  1. Choose Business partner in the maintenance view for the object (media product family, media product or media issue).

  2. The Business Partner Assignment screen appears.

  3. Choose the business partner and the appropriate role.

  4. Specify the period for the business partner assignment, if applicable.

Note Note

If you are assigning several business partners in the same role, for example several authors, you can number the entries in the desired order.

Creating a Business Partner Assignment (BP does not Exist in System)

  1. Choose Business partner in the maintenance view for the object (media product family, media product or media issue).

  2. The Business Partner Assignment screen appears.

  3. Choose Create BP.

  4. Choose the role for the business partner.

  5. Choose the partner category of the business partner you want to create, for example organization or natural person.

  6. Enter the required data on the business partner.

  7. Choose Copy.

  8. The business partner created in the role in question is displayed in the assignment table.

    If the business partner key is assigned internally , the system uses a provisional key. The business partner is not created physically until the media product master object is saved, so that the business partner key is not displayed until the object is called up again.

  9. Close the Business Partner Assignment screen.

Changing a Business Partner Assignment

  1. Choose Business partner in the maintenance view for the object (media product family, media product or media issue).

  2. The Business Partner Assignment screen appears.

  3. Place the cursor on the line containing the business partner you want to edit.

  4. Choose Change BP.

  5. Make the required changes to the business partner master data.

  6. Choose Copy.

  7. Close the Business Partner Assignment screen.
