(Re-)Activating Data Archiving Processes

Context

If you have assigned a remote source to a near-line connection, and the BW system has a SAP HANA database, SAP Smart Data Access will be used in the case of a query on the near-line provider. To ensure that existing data archiving processes can also use SDA, they need to be re-activated.

It is not possible at present to activate or deactivate SDA at runtime.

Procedure

  1. When you create new data archiving processes, a virtual table is created in SAP HANA when they are activated. This is displayed in the activation log.
  2. If you want existing data archiving processes to use SDA, you need to re-activate them.
