Ad-Hoc Items

Use

Ad-hoc items in Guided Procedures (GP) are actions that might be executed if certain conditions occur, but they do not change the general process flow.

Activities

To attach an action to be executed as an ad-hoc item, you must:

  1. Select the action to which you want to add an ad-hoc item.

To open its design time, choose Open….

  2. To switch to edit mode, choose (Edit).
  3. Open the You Can tab page.
  4. Choose Add.
  5. On the Browse Items screen, select the action that you want to attach as an ad-hoc item.
  6. Choose Select.
  7. You can map the output parameters of the action to the input parameters of the ad-hoc item.

To do that, choose Map Parameters. Select a parameter in the left-hand table (for the ad-hoc item) and the parameter you want to map in the right-hand table. Finally, choose Done.

  8. Whenever a newer version of the ad-hoc action is available, its status on the You Can tab page changes to (Deprecated). To update the action, select it from the list and choose Update. The status changes to (Active).
  9. Choose (Save).

At runtime, the available ad-hoc items are displayed in the You Can menu for the process.
