Granting Substitution Permissions
Use
You can authorize other users to perform activities on your behalf by setting substitution permissions. Using the substitution permission type Execute, you can - for example - grant permissions to another user to initiate a process on your behalf.
Prerequisites
- To grant permissions to another user for performing actions on a development object on your behalf, you must have permissions to execute the object (GP.DO.EXECUTE).
- You can modify only the substitution permissions granted by you. Only users assigned to the GP Administrator or Superuser role can modify the substitution permissions granted by others.
- You grant permissions for active processes.
Procedure
- Launch application Substitution Permissionsusing the following URL:
http://<host>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/caf~eu~gp~ui~perm/AInstSubstPermissions
- In step Select Type, leave the default settings unchanged.
Make sure that the development object type Process is selected.
- Choose Next.
- In step Choose Object, select the process for which you want to configure substitution permissions. Choose Next.
- In step Grant Permissions, proceed as follows:
- Choose Add under Grantees to open the user picker tool.
- Enter the user, group, or role, to which you want to grant substitution permissions.
- Choose Go.
- Select an entry from the result list, and choose Add users (respectively, Add groups or Add roles). The entry is added to the list of grantees. If you have added a group or role, all users that belong to it are automatically added to the Granteeslist.
- Repeat the procedure for each entry that you want to add. Finally, choose Done.
- To complete the procedure, choose Save.
Result
If the substitution permissions have been successfully saved, the grantees will be able to perform the relevant action on behalf of the granter.
