Prerequisites

Schedule lines are to be generated for till forbid items.

You have entered ad items of the Till forbid date type, entered a start date and not generated ad schedule lines by the required date.

Features

This function has a selection and display screen.

Selection

The following selection criteria are available to you on the selection screen:

  • Booking unit

  • End date or end copy number

  • Order

  • Test run

  • Selection criteria for controlling the log

  • Most recent ad spec

Selection criteria are used to restrict the number of booking units for which you intend to generate till forbid schedule lines. You must enter at least one booking unit and an end date or copy number during selection.

If you generate till forbid schedule lines for various booking units and intend to specify various end dates or end copy numbers during schedule line generation, you should enter an end date or copy number for each booking unit.

If you select the Most recent ad spec indicator, the system assigns schedule lines to the ad spec that has already been assigned to the most recent schedule line generated with the same basic booking unit.

Generation period

You specify the end date for the generation period during selection. The system determines the start date for the generation period as follows:

Document processing

You generate schedule lines for one till forbid item during document processing.

The system generates schedule lines for a till forbid item as follows when you confirm the item data:

  • If no till forbid schedule lines have been generated for the booking unit specified, the system generates schedule lines for a month in advance when you confirm the item data.

  • If these schedule lines have already been generated using a report, the system generates schedule lines for the date specified in this report when you confirm the item data.

The end date for the publication period is defined using the end date for the generation period on the Details tab page at item level. You can no longer make entries in the end date field since you can only generate any additional schedule lines for the till forbid item using the report.

Report

If you generate schedule lines for a booking unit using a report, the system ensures that generation is not repeated for an existing schedule line.

During this process, the system uses the publication period start date that you entered for the respective till forbid items during document processing to define the start of the generation period.

If you generate schedule lines for a booking unit for which schedule lines have already been generated, the system uses the date on which the last schedule line was generated to define the start of the generation period. The system adds one day to this date to ensure that generation is not repeated for a schedule line.

If you enter a required date as the end date for a till forbid item, the system only generates schedule lines for this item until this required date.

Recommendation Recommendation

Schedule generation of schedule lines as a regular batch job.

End of the recommendation.

Display

The system displays the following logs on the display screen:

Log

Display

Generated schedule lines log

The system displays schedule lines generated for each sales document and item. A distinction is made between schedule lines that have already been generated and new schedule lines generated. Schedule lines that were generated in a previous generation run are highlighted in gray. Schedule lines generated in the current generation run are highlighted in white.

The system displays the basic booking unit, content component, publication date and copy number for each schedule line generated.

The log is only displayed if schedule lines could be generated for a booking unit and the Generation errors only indicator was not selected on the selection screen.

Message log

The system displays errors that were made during creation of a till forbid item. These errors can prevent you from generating schedule lines because the content component or basic booking unit has not been entered.

The log is displayed if errors occurred during schedule line generation and the Generation errors only indicator was not selected on the selection screen.

Generation log

The system displays errors for each sales document and item that can prevent you from generating schedule lines for a till forbid item. This may be because the publication date conflicts with the order deadline, schedule lines already exist for a booking unit on a given date or the booking unit cannot be produced on the date specified.

The log is displayed if errors occurred during schedule line generation.

Note Note

Entering additional dates or dates from the publication calendar for till forbid items can cause problems during schedule line generation. A system message is displayed to this effect.

End of the note.
