Reorganization of the Budget Processes in SAP BI and SAP ECC

Use

In the planning system (SAP BI) and the purchasing system (SAP ECC), you must reorganize budget numbers that are obsolete or no longer required, to reduce the volume of data contained in the tables in the budget numbers.

In addition, for budget numbers, you can delete obsolete budget types and DataStore objects (in SAP BI) along with their tables (in SAP ECC).

Note Note

Budget numbers and budget types cannot be archived.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

The following dependencies apply when you are reorganizing budget processes:

  • If budget numbers are obsolete and no more associated documents exist, you can delete the budget numbers in SAP ECC.

  • Only when the budget numbers are deleted in the ECC system can you delete the budget numbers in SAP BI.

  • Only when all the budget numbers of a budget type have been deleted can you delete the budget type in SAP ECC .

  • Only when the budget type is deleted in SAP ECC and all budgets of this budget type are deleted in SAP BI can you delete this budget type in SAP BI.

Features

  • You can use transaction WOTB4 to run a report that automatically determines and deletes the budget numbers in SAP ECC. You can start a simulation run for this also.

  • The result of the report is saved in the application log. You can display this using transaction SLG1 , object WRF_PRC and subobject OTB_REORG .

  • You can use a report in transaction WBUDG03 to delete the budget type in SAP ECC. You can display the result in the application log but you cannot save it.

  • You can use the Budget Monitor (transaction UPARI_BUDGA ) or transaction UPARI_BUDG04 and an appropriate report to automatically determine and delete the budget numbers in SAP BI. You can display the result in the application log but you cannot save it.

  • You can use transaction UPARI_BUDG05 to run a report that deletes the budget type in SAP BI. You can display the result in the application log but you cannot save it.
