Processing Area: Incoming Post Item

Definition

Screen area on which you can process incoming post items.

Use

The processing of incoming post items is divided into a number of steps which normally involve the processor of the incoming post, the head of department, the recorder, and the processor. At the end of this process, the processor receives the incoming post item in their worklist and must assign it to a case. If necessary, the processor can also create a new case and assign the incoming post item to the new case.

Structure

The processing area for the case is divided into four screen areas Sender, Attributes, Received Document, and E-Mail Parts.

If the electronic desk is shown using Display Desk, the screen areas, Work Area: Selection, Active Work Area and History are displayed.

You can select all functions for incoming post items such as Print in the screen areas Sender and Received Document.

Sender

The sender data is displayed in this area.

Attributes

The attributes of the document are displayed in this area. To hide the attributes, select Attributes on the function bar. If you hide the attributes, the sender data is hidden too.

To show the attributes and sender data again, select Attributes.

Received Document

The received document is displayed in this area. It can be a scanned document, fax, or an e-mail.

E-Mail Parts

This screen only appears on the interface if the document is an e-mail. The attachments that the e-mail contains (such as graphs or additional documents) are displayed in this area.

To use the whole screen for displaying e-mail and attachments, choose E-Mail in the function bar.
