Series Characteristics

Definition

In series sales, the series characteristic for each product determines how the system determines subsequent issues.

Use

The settings for each series characteristic are stored under a unique key in the system. You define series characteristics in Customizing. Each series product is assigned a series characteristic .

Structure

The most important setting in the series characteristic is the shipping characteristic. It determines how planning takes place for the next issues.

You can only make additional settings for shipping characteristic type 2 . You can decide for this type whether the planning records are displayed in the media-specific data on the contract item and whether issues can be included retroactively in planning.

Type 1 The subsequent issue is entered manually in the shipping schedule.

Planned issues not visible in contract

Back issues not allowed

Type 2 The subsequent issue is determined in the shipping schedule automatically from the issue sequence for the product.

The planned issues ( planning records ) can be displayed in the contract . You determine the target quantities there.

Back issues can be included in shipping planning

Type 3 The subsequent issue is not entered in the shipping schedule. It is determined during order generation.

Subsequent issues are determined for all the shipping characteristics during order generation , using determination and check modules.
