Background documentationApplication Composition

This section informs you about the main elements of the flexible spending account (FSA) Claims application in Employee Self-Service (ESS) based on Web Dynpro ABAP.

Structure

Figure 1 shows the encapsulation of several Web Dynpro components within the Web Dynpro Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Claims application.

The application’s overview page displays the complete summary of the FSA plan details in which an employee has enrolled. The overview page is divided into the following areas:

  • Account Selection – Enables employees to select their FSA plan and year. Employees can view the FSA plan details for the current year and previous year.

  • Account Summary – Provides employee information, such as their name/personnel number, plan year start date and end date, contribution target amount, claims approved amount, and amount available for the selected FSA plan

  • Account Balance – Displays the amount contributed by the employee, the amount for reimbursed claims, and any account balance from the previous year based on the current date. It also displays the grace period deadline.

  • Claims — Displays all the claims created for the selected plan and year. Employees can also create new claims, and edit or delete existing claims. If an administrator has rejected a claim, employees can agree to the rejected status.
