Dismantling Equipment Without Simultaneous Material Movement

Use

You want to remove a piece of equipment from a superordinate piece of equipment or functional location without posting a goods receipt (adding to stock).

Prerequisites

This function is only possible for equipment with a material number and serial number.

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path Logistics Next navigation step Plant Maintenance Next navigation step Maintenance of Technical Objects Next navigation step Configuration Control Next navigation step Installation and Dismantling of Components End of the navigation path from the SAP Easy Access screen.

  2. In the mode list field, select Dismantle Equipment without Material Movement if the appropriate screen is not automatically displayed.

  3. Enter either a piece of equipment or a material and a serial number in the Dismantle Object group box, and choose Enter .

The system automatically outputs the current installation location of the corresponding piece of equipment.

  4. Enter a reference order, if required.

  5. Select an event type and a part status on the Notification tab page.

  6. If you want to simulate the removal before saving, choose Check . You can display the search result in a full screen application log. Choose Application Log to do this.

  7. Save your entries.

You may have to activate the forced dismantling to override an error message issued by the system. In this case, choose Forced Installation/Dismantling and confirm the message in the following dialog box.

A forced dismantling is only possible after the simulation of the dismantling has taken place.

Result

  • The equipment is removed from the superordinate object. No changes are made to stock.

  • If the corresponding Business Add-In is active, a notification is generated or updated.

  • After the equipment is dismantled, a structure gap is automatically generated.

  • If forced dismantling was used to dismantle the equipment, a corresponding indicator is set on the Configuration Control tab page in the equipment master record.
