Performing a Configuration Check You are performing an overall configuration check for a piece of equipment or a functional location, and thus validating the product structure. You can use the validation to establish the validity of the configuration before you release the technical object concerned for operation.
The system compares the actual configuration of the respective object with the corresponding allowed configuration, in which all the possible part variants are contained.
The actual configuration and the master parts list of the object concerned are configured and linked with each other.
For more information, see Preparatory Activities for the Configuration Check .
If you want to filter particular objects and only partially load the actual configuration, you must implement BADI_CCM_EXPLOSION.
If you only want to check the respective object of the actual configuration against a partially expanded allowed configuration during the configuration check, you must implement BADI_CCM_EXPL_ALWD.
Note
You can now perform a partial configuration check, in that you only implement the BAdI BADI_CCM_EXPL_ALWD instead of the two BAdIs BADI_CCM_EXPLOSION and BADI_CCM_EXPL_ALWD. You can use an additional method of the BAdI BADI_CCM_EXPL_ALWD to filter objects both from the actual configuration and from the allowed configuration, before the configuration check is performed. For more information, see Business Add-Ins .
If you want to carry out a filtered check, for example, if you want certain allowed elements to NOT be checked, you must implement BADI_CCM_CHECK_SCOPE.
Choose
from the
SAP Easy Access
screen.
The
Configuration Control Workbench
screen is displayed
:
Choose
Functional Location
or
Equipment
in the list field, and enter the desired object.
Choose
Load
.
Example
If you have activated an implementation of the BADI_CCM_EXPLOSION BAdI, you can choose from two different functions:
Load
and
Load (Extended).
The desired equipment or functional location is displayed in the navigation area of the configuration control workbench. You can display the actual configuration of the object as a structure tree and navigate within the configuration.
In the
Configuration Check
screen area, the system proposes at least one piece of reference equipment (
Equipment Check
field) in a list field.
If the object concerned is installed underneath a piece of equipment that is also linked to an iPPE access node, the system also proposes this equipment as reference equipment.
Example
Reference equipment is equipment that you have previously linked with the corresponding access nodes of the master parts list. For more information, see Linking Equipment with iPPE Access Nodes .
Select the reference equipment you require.
The corresponding access node is displayed in the next line.
If you want to carry out a filtered check, choose
Restricted Check
under
Check Options
.
Choose
Check
.
Example
If you have activated the implementation of the BADI_CCM_EXPL_ALWD BAdI, you can choose from two different functions:
Check
and
Enhanced Check.
You can also display previously performed checks for the same configuration by selecting the desired check (
Select Check
field).
The check result is displayed in a log .
The allowed configuration for the object concerned is displayed under the actual configuration. You can compare both configurations with each other to check the results of the check log.
Note
In the detail view for the individual nodes of the allowed configuration, you can display important information for the respective valid materials.
The configuration check could, for example, reveal that a part in the actual configuration is missing or superfluous. In this case, you can create or delete a structure gap. For more information, see Creating and Deleting Structure Gaps .
