Closure of Items If closure of an order item affects the logistics process, you can only close the item using the function provided for this purpose (
termination
or
cancellation
). This also takes the relevancy of the item for billing and settlement into account.
Otherwise, an item can only be closed by specifying a
valid to date
(e.g. in the case of coupon orders).
You can use the
split
function to split change items in subscription orders or third-party delivery orders into a closed and a current part. This means you can create an unlimited change to the standard item starting from the split date. You cannot create an unlimited change to the standard item in the validity period of a limited change, e.g. a suspension, because the limited change must be related to an unlimited change (standard item).
The functions for closing order items are available as follows:
Order type |

Subscription third-party delivery order |

Retail order internal order transfer distribution order |
Cancellation |
Specific functions have been provided for closing orders; these have the following features:
Function |
Features |
Termination (only for subscriptions and third-party delivery orders) |
Closes the existing item on the actual end of delivery; the system determines the soonest possible end of delivery on the basis of the minimum length of subscription and, if applicable, the sales agent's commitment period. However, if you still set the actual end of delivery to an earlier time and perform termination, you can have the system perform recalculation (billing and commission); you can also initiate failure research; the termination only takes effect if you select the indicator
|
Cancellation |
Closes an item for which planning has already taken place (i.e. can no longer be deleted) when canceled by the customer, provided billing and commission settlement have not yet been performed |
Split (only for subscriptions and third-party delivery orders) |
Divides a limited change item into two periods. This means you can create an unlimited change to the standard item that encompasses the period of the limited change, which is not yet over (without overlaps). To be able to do this, the split date must correspond to the validity date of the unlimited change. |
You can execute the function by means of the menu path at the following points in the system:

Note
The procedures for using the possible closure functions are described for each order type.
